Cascina Farisengo
In the pond of a suggestive English garden, centuries-old trees and rose gardens are reflected
The Lombard countryside holds unique architectural treasures. Near the main embankment of the Po Cremona-Casalmaggiore, called the Etruscan, stands the Cascina Farisengo. It is a farmhouse built on the Lombard model with a closed courtyard. Its centuries-old history begins around 965 A.D., a time when the original plant dates back. The context is among the most suggestive. Around the courtyard on a square base stands the manor house together with the buildings that once played a very specific role in the organization of rock works, including the icehouse. A beautiful English garden with pond is the strong point of the structure together with the lemon house. In its clear waters are reflected ancient trees, rose gardens and a bridge. A museum on the history of peasants and carriages speaks of the past time in a dimension suspended between centuries.
