Villa Bottini La Limonaia
A fairy-tale universe suspended between heaven and earth
Crossing the gates of Villa Bottini you enter a universe suspended between heaven and earth, almost fairytale. A lush English garden leads to the manor house with a square base tower that testifies to a defensive past. The structure develops through a two-storey central body with square windows and small elliptical oculi in the eaves. All around is a sparkle of scents and intense shades of color. Secular yews, elms, lime trees, magnolias and a large mulberry tree welcome the Limonaia, an elegant and refined environment with a porch and a stone basin. The rooms of Villa Bottini involve the guest in a journey to discover countries near and far, real, and fantastic characters. The frescoes of the Sala dei Souvenirs d'Italie tell of travels, customs, and traditions of the Bel Paese while the Sala Souvenirs du Monde recalls memories of travels to distant lands. In the living room, instead, you can relax next to Lilliputian men intent on picking fruits. Villa Bottini La Limonaia can be considered a rare example of a dwelling with a strong identity of the noble family that lived in it.
